Neil was kayaking on Currumbin Creek on Thursday when the spectacular scene unfolded before him.
He says two sharks - about 1.2m to 1.5m - were the first to jump.
He was filming at the time, but his camera was pointed in the wrong direction.
Then, a third, smaller shark did the same behind him and in full view of the camera.
“All of a sudden, three sharks jumped out,” he told 7NEWS.com.au.
“One directly at me, one came out from beside my kayak away from me and the third one jumped out from behind me.”
It was a sight Neil had never seen before.
He also warned the incident occurred about 1km from the mouth of the creek, where recreational swimming is popular.
Gold Coast shark expert Olaf Meynecke has seen the footage and believes the shark was a juvenile bull shark.
He said it was not uncommon for bull sharks to jump out of the water, and may do so to escape a predator such as a bigger shark.
