ROUND THE TRACK with Greg Jervis, Circuit CQ

Well, what a few weeks of fantastic motorsport viewing.

Repco Bathurst 1000, I thought Wet ‘n’ Wild was on the Gold Coast, but not that weekend, it was Bathurst’s turn.

What a spectacle it was. I believe only three cars finished with straight panels, Van Gisbergen is in a class of his own, this year Shane can’t do any wrong.

Second in WRC 2 around the bush of New Zealand, then First at Bathurst a week later then to back it up with another Red Bull whitewash at the Gold Coast 500.

Plus he picked up the 2022 Championship as well as Team Championship.

But all is not just about Supercars, What About our own local Haltech V8 Super Ute Series driver, Dave ‘MUD FLAP’ Casey.

Mud Flap and the BENDIX powered V8 Ute around Gold Coast picking up a 5th place and a 9th in front of the biggest attendance on the Gold Coast of 200,232 spectators and also finished off with a 6th overall in the Championship.

Then at the awards night Dave pickup best Sportsmanship Award 2022. Great work for Mud Flap’s first year in the BENDIX ute. Bring on next year I’m sure Dave and BENDIX will be up front pushing up the leader board.

Also I heard that young Ben Barnes another great driver from CQ won the Pro Am at the Drift Masters. Ben honed his skills doing Motorkhanas and Khanacross events here in Rockhampton, then he progress to the big stage down south and hasn’t looked back. So a big Congratulations to Ben and crew.

Don’t forget CIRCUIT CQ is still working mad in the background, I have sore fingers from typing letters and pushing phone number to gather support. People may laugh but I can see CIRCUIT CQ with Dave and the BENDIX crew racing and Ben Barnes drifting here in our great region.

Central Queensland has developed champions over the years, Wayne Menzies Queensland Rally Champion and Targa Tasmania and Targa Cairns competitor, Clay Weston Queensland Rally Champion, Targa Cairns, Queensland Sprint competitor, Megan Byrne Queensland Rally Champion.

So we ask that you keep pushing our local pollies to get out and help us we do miss out up here CIRCUIT CQ is needed.
