Gym on alert: NSW records 216 cases - NEWS.com.au

A Covid alert for a popular gym chain has been issued as NSW records 216 new local cases of coronavirus.

NSW has recorded 216 new local cases of Covid-19 and three more deaths as an alert is in place for a popular gym chain.

NSW Health revealed late Tuesday 11 new Covid cases had been linked to Barry’s Bootcamp gyms in Sydney’s Kings Cross, Surry Hills and Martin Place.

The health department is contacting people who attended the classes of concern but all patrons who go to that gym have been urged to monitor themselves for symptoms.

The Kings Cross and Surry Hills locations are listed as possible transmission sites on the health department website, listing every day from Saturday October 30 through to Thursday October 4 as possible days of exposure.

Authorities said that besides the 216 local new cases, there was also one new overseas/interstate case recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm.

A total 235 people are in hospital, with 41 in intensive care.

The state is now at 90.1 per cent double jabbed for the population aged 16 and over.
