The new case is a young child who is a close contact of a previous infection.
They have been linked to the Sunnybank cluster and were in quarantine during their infectious period.
"What that shows, is that it is so important when people are isolating, they do their full 14 days and do all those tests," Ms D'Ath said.
Queensland has now vaccinated 62.8 per cent of residents with one dose, and 43.9 per cent with two.
A total of 4.5 million doses have now been administered across the state.
More than 9000 tests were conducted in the last day, on top of 22,000 vaccines handed down.
The state also kicks off another super-vax weekend today with walk-ins welcomes to all vaccine hubs, which are opened for extended hours.
However, Annastacia Palaszczuk has still refused to commit to a vaccine target that would reopen borders, which has thrown Christmas plans into chaos.
