Premier Gladys Berejiklian today announced Cessnock, Dungog, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Port Stephens and Singleton local government areas (LGAs) have had community transmission of COVID-19.
In response the Premier announced that stay-at-home rules would apply from 5pm today until 12.01am Friday 13 August.
The order means affected schools will now move to Level 4 restrictions. If parents and carers are working from home, and their child is able to be educated from home, they must be kept at home. As always, our schools will be open with minimal supervision to support those students who cannot be educated from home, for example if their parent or carer is an essential worker. Outside of school hours care remains open for any child that needs it.
Masks and face coverings
Students in Year 7 and above, and all staff are required to wear a mask or face covering when indoors on school grounds.
