NSW records another 18 local COVID infections - MacroBusiness

NSW Health has released today’s COVID figures with another 18 locally acquired cases recorded, 13 of which were already announced yesterday morning:

According to NSW Health:

  • There are now 36 cases linked to the Bondi cluster and 49 local cases overall.
  • 8 of these new cases are linked to a birthday party in West Hoxton, attended by a previously reported case linked to the Bondi cluster. About 30 people attended this party and they have all been tested and are in isolation.
  • Most concerning, a hairdresser from Western Sydney who worked in Double Bay is among the new cases. They are not linked to a known case or cluster and urgent investigations are underway.
  • Six locally acquired cases were also notified overnight and will be included in tomorrow’s numbers. All have been in isolation while infectious.

The daily growth in local infections remains worrying:

Dangerous exponentials.

Today’s press conference should be interesting.
