9 new local initiatives funded to drive COVID-19 recovery - Mirage News

Yarra City Council is investing almost $140,000 in 9 new and exciting projects to drive economic activity across the municipality and attract visitors to Yarra’s iconic dining, retail and business precincts.

The projects, funded through Round 2 of Yarra’s Precinct Recovery Grants, include a range of initiatives designed to revitalise local business precincts and set them up for success in the coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery. These include:

  • Creative online initiatives,
  • Events and destination marketing campaigns and
  • Activation works to help local spaces blossom

Yarra City Council Mayor, Cr Gabrielle de Vietri said the Precinct Recovery Grants have been a resounding success providing much needed activation to our iconic dining, retail and business precincts.

“We want to create an exciting and thriving Yarra that people want to visit, and these grants put local traders and community in the driver’s seat.”

“These grants recognise the importance of local people – business and community – working together to develop local ideas and celebrate the very best of our community.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing each of these projects delivered over the coming months and the benefit they will bring to our local precincts and business community.”
