Local business procurement opportunities for Granite Island Causeway project - Victor Harbor Times

Business Victor Harbor has opened a registration platform for local businesses to register for procurement opportunities relating to the new Granite Island Causeway development.

The $31.1 million dollar project is being delivered by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport and was approved on March 1, 2021.

It is expected to support about 43 full time equivalent jobs per year over the life of the project, according to Business Victor Harbor.

Business Victor Harbor is providing a referral service for all relevant south coast businesses, in addition to its members, with details referred on directly to the head contractor of the development, McConnell Dowell Constructions.

Business Victor Harbor Chairman Michael Schubert said he encouraged local businesses to register for a variety of procurement opportunities.

"Business Victor Harbor would like to see as much local expenditure as possible with local suppliers and contractors, which ultimately benefits our community and the local economy with ongoing support to local charities, schools and sponsorships," Mr Schubert said.

Local businesses can register for 28 procurement opportunities, ranging from accommodation, electrical works, fuel supply, office furniture and electrical appliances, clothing, security and vehicle servicing.
